Originally designed as art galeries for Documenta IX in Kassel and after their relocation in Almere, the ensemble of longitudinal ‘Aue Pavilions’ by Robbrecht and Daem now live their third life in Amersfoort. The on-the-ground perspective on the ongoing development of the surrounding area offered by the pavilions made owner and developer Schipper Bosch decide to move its project office to the buildings, making their presence and activities visible and accessible.
The interior design aims to enhance the open and transparant character of the pavilions and at the same time provide sufficient work stations, acousitc comfort and spaces for concentration.
As ‘pavilions within the pavilions’ a series of custom designed cabinets organize the spaces, display their contents and deal with the requirements of a contemporary place for work.
