The Hedy d’Ancona Prize is an award for outstanding health care architecture in the Netherlands. The Creative Industries Fund NL and the Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) organize the competition in order to stimulate innovation in health care concepts in relation to architecture, functionality, well-being, interior design, technology and setting. Projects that link an innovative health care concept to a high-quality setting that bolsters the well-being of patients, clients, personnel, volunteers, family members and visitors are eligible for the prize. In 2012, ACTA (Benthem Crouwel Architekten, commissioned by the VU University) and the Ronald McDonald Centre (Fact Architects, commissioned by the Ronald McDonald Centre Foundation) shared the first prize. In 2011 the prize was awarded to Groot Klimmendaal in Arnhem (architect: Koen van Velsen, commissioned by Stichting Arnhems Revalidatiecentrum).
Since the first edition of the Hedy d’Ancona Prize in 2010 Robert-Jan de Kort is involved: As secretary of the jury Robert-Jan writes the jury reports. Also, for the accompanying publications he writes texts on the nominated projects.
